This might come in two weeks late but as they say, “better late than never!”.

Few weeks back, I had an interview with blogger Courtney Leiva of Super Glam News. Here are few things I’d like to share..

SGN: How did your love for design and fashion start?

I always loved clothes and dress up from a young age. I had wanted to study fashion design and did learn to sew however those dreams never materialized. Nevertheless, I always took the opportunity to experiment with my clothes. Looking back I realize I’ve always marched to the beat of my own drum when it came to fashion. I am also a lover of thrift shops. I love being able to find a bargain and build a great look around it.

SGN: House of Shakti uses crystals for healing, could you explain to our readers how this process works?

Crystals and gemstones have been known since ancient times to carry healing powers. Many holistic therapist practice what they call “laying on of stones”. Based on your physical ailments or symptoms, stones would be chosen and placed on the body on energy centers called “chakras”. The idea is that placing these stones in ones energy field can help heal dis-ease, dispel negativity, increase vitality, inspire creativity, and much more.

SGN: How do you combine fashion and spirituality?

I wanted to not only create accessories that were fashionable, but that carried a meaning to them. Like a beautiful poem or song can evoke a beautiful emotion or spiritual feeling for someone, I thought why not with jewelry. To me, spirituality is about interdependence. Learning to live and love together in harmony, consciously. This was something lacking in my life for many years and is still a daily practice for me. So I find myself incorporating it into everything I do, including my jewelry.
